We take pride in our vacations and love to have a little keepsake, like a souvenir, to remember the fun times. Since your trip may only last a few days, it’s not a good idea to spend hours searching for that something ‘special’, like a piece of art, ceramics, etc. It’s fun to shop the souvenir stores, but when finding a gift for yourself and for others begins to add-up as a chore, then you have to keep reading to learn more about three easy & worry-free souvenirs.
Keep your souvenirs simple and accessible. The worst thing is buying a fragile item only to be heart-broken to find it in pieces when you unpack.
So what are my favorite souvenirs?
REFRIGERATOR MAGNETS
Magnets! We love to find a cool magnet and add them to the collection on our refrigerator! Our friends and family always gravitate to our kitchen to explore all the places we’ve been.
What makes magnets great too, is if we run out of time and haven’t shopped, we can always pick up a nice magnet at the airport on our way home!
DESTINATION T-SHIRTS
T-Shirts! We found that t-shirts offer us a great way to connect with others while traveling. My favorite story was when we had a 3 hour layover in Narita airport. It felt like 3am with the jet lag and we were struggling to stay awake. A lovely lady joined us and opened her conversation by sharing her fond memories of Tahiti after seeing my husband’s t-shirt. We shared our stories and before we knew it, it was time for our connecting flight!
PICTURE PERFECT
Pictures! What’s great about this is that pictures are free. We select our favorite picture taken and either print & frame it or put it as our screen image on our devices.
I am using a hi-res digital frame that I keep on my desk. It continually reminds me during my working hours of the reason why I am working – which is to take extraordinary travels!
8 inch Hi-Res Digital Photo Frame with Motion Sensor
That’s it. It’s not complicated, not expensive, not fragile and it won’t break an arm nor a leg! With your souvenirs purchased you now have more time to enjoy your destination experiences!
